Recipes
We hope to open the doors to sharing culinary wisdom and traditional recipes that are were not only important in the past but crucial to the future.
Native foods are vitally important to the health and wellbeing of the Indigenous peoples from this region.
Help want to see the community learn about the wild plants that are gathered and harvested and used as food and medicine and for spiritual purposes.
History
We recognize that many students across the region and throughout the nation don’t get comprehensive, thoughtful, or even accurate education in Indigenous history and culture.
We know that this history has greater depth than most could even imagine. Share your family stories with your community so that can help bring a new perspective to the painfully one-sided narrative we often hear of and help show the diversity of experiences in the area.
Highlight an elder
Help us lift up our communities Elders by writing in and sharing about how/why they are important to you. We provide a quick questionnaire so that we can the details of each Elder correct in the publication but what you write about is up to you!
Depending on where the Elder lives and willingness, we may even be able to stop by and take a professional picture of them to accompany your submission!
